Legal measures—Québec Parental Insurance Plan
The Centre de recouvrement wishes to inform Québec Parental Insurance Plan clients that as of February 15, 2010, the Centre will be authorized to take legal measures to recover amounts overpaid under the Québec Parental Insurance Plan in cases where a person who owes amounts received under the Plan has refused to sign a repayment agreement.
Legal measures include seizure of liquid assets, garnishment of wages, seizure of property and immoveables, hypothec (mortgage) and legal hypothec.

Québec Parental Insurance Plan
As of June 2009, the Department will withhold an amount from the Québec Parental Insurance Plan benefit (20% of the net benefit payable) after having issued a recovery certificate. However, if the withholding results from a case involving misrepresentation, it will correspond to 50% of the net benefit payable.
