Note 1: There is a $48.8 million discrepancy between Department expenditures, which totalled $959.5 million (program 1, element 1), and Fonds de développement du marché de travail (FDMT) revenues, which totalled $1,008.3 million. This discrepancy can be explained by the indirect costs allocated to Emploi-Québec by the Department for services rendered and $3.1 million in own-source revenues accrued directly in the FDMT.

Note 2: The “Management Support” program includes the administrative costs of central units, with the exception of the Direction générale des politiques, Emploi-Québec, and the Sécurité du revenu network. The “Management Support” element includes the administrative costs of the Direction générale de la planification stratégique et opérationnelle.

Employees

As of March 31, 2001, the ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale had 7,646 employees. This total excluded City of Montréal employees, i.e., 268 Emploi-Québec employees and 840 Sécurité du revenu employees.
