    Two kinds of work experiences are offered to unemployed young people under the age of 25 to allow them to gain real work experience and confirm their career choice: internships and job shadowing .

    This program provides various activities for persons who are looking for work: information sessions on the labour market, career advice and counselling, job search club, etc.
  • Employment Integration Program for Immigrants and Visible Minorities (PRIIME)Link to external site.
    The Employment Integration Program for Immigrants and Visible Minorities (PRIIME) is provided by Emploi-Québec in cooperation with the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles and Investissement Québec. It provides assistance for obtaining a first job experience in Québec
  • Income Support Program for Older Workers
    The purpose of the Support Program for Older workers is to offer monthly financial assistance to older workers who have been let go or laid off and find themselves out of a job because of the current economic situation.
  • Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals
    A program designed to provide financial support to workers who have experienced a collective dismissal.
    This new program came into force on April 1, 2009 and replaced:
    • the Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals in the Resource Regions
      and
    • the Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals in the Textile and Clothing Sectors, Excluding the Resource Regions

  • Interprovincial Exchange ProgramLink to external site.
    Under this program, Québec students can obtain summer work from the governments of Alberta, Prince Edward Island and Manitoba during Summer 2011. In turn, Québec government departments and agencies take in students from the same three provinces.
  • Jeunes en action
    This measure offers young people between the ages of 18 and 24 facing obstacles to labour market entry an opportunity to develop their potential through adapted measures, including sustained coaching.

    Jeunes volontaires allows young people between the ages of 16 and 29 to explore business ideas, organize services in their community or carry out personal projects.
  • Job readiness measureLink to external site.
    This measure is for persons who are unemployed. It offers activities to help them develop the personal skills needed to find or keep a job.
  • Last-resort financial assistance
    Last-resort financial assistance for low-income individuals and families.
  • Ma place au soleil
    This measure is designed for young mothers receiving last-resort financial assistance who want to go back to school. They receive support to help them assume their family responsibilities.
  • Parental Wage Assistance
    This program was replaced by the Work PremiumLink to external site..
  • Manpower Training measureLink to external site.
    This measure grants an allowance and reimburses training-related expenses to persons at risk of long-term unemployment.
  • National Reconciliation Program for Duplessis Orphans Who Were Residents of Certain Institutions
    The National Reconciliation Program for Duplessis Orphans Who Were Residents of Certain Institutions offers individual financial assistance of $15,000 to persons commonly known as Duplessis orphans, who were residents of certain non-psychiatric institutions.

    Placement étudiant meets the student manpower needs of the Québec civil service, the private sector and municipalities.
  • Pregnant Minor Financial Assistance Program
    This program grants monthly financial assistance to minors who are pregnant and have no financial resources.
  • Québec Parental Insurance PlanLink to external site.
    The Québec Parental Insurance Plan provides for the payment of a financial benefit to any eligible worker who takes a maternity, paternity, adoption or parental leave during which the worker sustains an interruption of earnings.

    This Emploi-Québec mentoring program aims to facilitate labour market entry of young people from cultural communities and visible minorities in the following six areas: Gatineau, Laval, Longueuil, Montréal, Québec and Sherbrooke.
  • Return to Work SupplementLink to external site.à
    This measure offers one-time financial assistance to eligible individuals who go back to work after a long period of unemployment.
  • Réussir
    Réussir is a social assistance and support program designed for persons with a severely limited capacity for employment who wish to have easier access to secondary-level vocational or postsecondary education.
  • Supplement to the Work Premium
    The supplement to the work premium is a tax credit that has been implemented to help former recipients of last-resort financial assistance remain employed.
  • Support for Self-Employment
    This measure grants financial assistance to eligible individuals for the purpose of preparing a business plan, starting their own business or creating their own job.
  • Youth Alternative Program
    This program is aimed at young people under age 25 who are eligible for last-resort financial assistance and want to acquire personal, social and vocational self-sufficiency.
