Bureau des renseignements et plaintes

Responsibilities

Under the Individual and Family Assistance ActLink to external site. (printable), the Bureau des renseignements et plaints must

  • inform persons, agencies and businesses about the Department’s programs, measures and services, including information about their rights and recourse;
  • monitor the level of satisfaction with the measures, programs, and services provided for in the Act;
  • make recommendations to Minister to correct prejudicial situations and prevent them from reoccurring;
  • give due consideration to your opinions and observations concerning the services, measures, and programs provided for under the Act;
  • check and analyze all complaints submitted to the Bureau, except those that are clearly unfounded, i.e., complaints that are not within the purview of the Bureau.

The Bureau des renseignements et plaints also answers citizens’ information requests on services, programs and childcare delivery.

Commitments

In keeping with the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale’s Service Statement to Citizens the Bureau des renseignements et plaintes has a commitment:

  • to send confirmation, within two days of receiving a complaint, that the complaint is being treated.
