Description

The Centre spécialisé des demandeurs d'asile, des garants défaillants et des parrainés (CSDAGDP) serves specific target groups across the Island of Montréal and, in certain fields, across Québec. It provides mainly services for asylum seekers, sponsored immigrants who receive social assistance and sponsors who fail to meet their obligations set forth in a sponsorship agreement.

More specifically, the CSDAGDP is active in the following areas:

• initial granting of benefits and management of active social assistance files for asylum seekers on the Island of Montréal
• initial granting of benefits and management of active social assistance files for sponsored persons within the territories of Montréal and Laval
• liaison between local employment centres (CLEs) and the ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC), with respect to status identification
• reestablishment of sponsors’ obligations toward sponsored persons in Quebec
• billing for all sponsored persons in Québec
• processing of files under evaluation for risks of violence for sponsors and sponsored persons in Québec
