Services for refugee protection claimantsIf you are claiming refugee protection, your claim will be processed by the Centre spécialisé des demandeurs d'asile, des garants défaillants et des services aux parrainés. The Centre spécialisé’s mission is to offer you last-resort financial assistance, provided you apply for it and meet the eligibility criteria. If you have made a claim for refugee protection and require last-resort financial assistance, contact the nearest local employment centre or contact the Centre spécialisé directly at the following address: 287, rue Notre-Dame Ouest You can also call the Centre de communication avec la clientèle at 514-873-4000 or toll free at 1-877-767-8773. The local employment centre has a multiservice room equipped with computers to help you look for a job, re-enter the labour market or stay employed. If need be, you can also consult an employment assistance officer. To serve you betterIn accordance with the Ministère’s language policy, employees will speak to you in French. If you do not understand French, you may be served in another language spoken by the employees on site. To facilitate your integrationOnce your claim for refugee protection has been approved and you have been granted refugee status, the Centre spécialisé transfers your file to a local employment centre so that you can get the services and participate in measures that will help you find a job, re-enter the labour market or stay employed. The local employment centre will also manage your financial assistance file for as long as needed. Eligibility criteriaThe eligibility criteria for persons claiming refugee protection are the same as for other last-resort financial assistance recipients. Two pieces of identification are required:
