Filing an application for review

Applications for reviews of decisions under the Social Assistance Program and the Social Solidarity Program as well as claims issued by Emploi-Québec under specific programs or the Alternative jeunesse Program must be filed in writing using the Application for review form (PDF file., KB) or the Emploi-Québec Application for review form (PDF file., KB) , which are available at the office in charge of your file or your regional review office.

For decisions under the Québec Parental Insurance Plan, you must complete the Application for review – Québec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP) form (PDF file., KB), which is also available at local employment centres (CLE) and review offices, or by contacting the RQAP Centre de service à la clientèle at the following numbers:

  • Throughout North America, toll-free: 1 888 610-7727
  • Overseas: 1 416 342-3059*

*Note that fees apply.

You can also file an application for review in writing, clearly identifying the decision you are contesting. You can enclose any documents that you feel will be useful in supporting your application. If you wish, you can also request an interview in order to express your point of view.

Deadline for filing your application for review

You have 90 days from the date you receive the notice of decision to file your application for review. If your application is not filed within this period, it will be turned down unless you can show that you were unable to act sooner for reasons beyond your control.

Where do I send my application for review?

For your review application to be processed as quickly as possible, it is important to send it directly to the office that handed down the decision you are contesting.

If you need help completing your application for review, MESS employees are available to assist you.
