Simplified Access to Government Programs and Services
On April 1, 2013, the ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale was entrusted with the responsibilities formerly carried out by Services Québec, expanding its range of services and increasing the number of people it serves. Services Québec and the Ministère will henceforth pool their resources and expertise to improve government services to citizens and businesses.
As a result, the Minister is now responsible for providing citizens and business across Québec with a multi-service centre providing simplified access to public services.
The office of the Directeur de l’état civil also comes under the Minister’s responsibility. The Minister appoints the person holding the post, also known as the Registrar of Civil Status.

- Services Québec – Citizens, for information on programs and services for citizens;
- Urgence Québec, for status reports, instructions and recommendations as well as information on what to do in case of an emergency.
