Clients

Solidarité sociale serves last-resort financial assistance recipients, low-income earners and low-income households.

Last-resort financial assistance

  • In fiscal 2005-2006, Emploi-Québec provided financial support to a monthly average of 505 7451 recipients (381 130 adults and 124 615 children) divided over 341 314 households. It also processed 139 179 new financial assistance applications. Note that the amount of benefits paid varies with household composition and households’ employment constraints.

The delivery of Solidarité sociale services is subject to financial assistance legislation and regulations but is adapted to clients’ characteristics in terms of individual assistance.

Assistance for low-income earners

The claims slip is granted under certain conditions to adults or families who no longer receive last-resort financial assistance benefits. It allows them to obtain certain prescription drugs and to obtain services like eye tests and dental care.
