Pregnant Minors
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this program, you must:
- be a minor and be at least 20 weeks pregnant
- participate in the Programme de soutien aux jeunes parents (PSJP: Support for Young Parents Program), part of the integrated perinatal and early childhood services for vulnerable families administered by the MSSS
- be referred by a local community service centre (CLSC)
- live in Québec
- be a Canadian citizen, a registered Aboriginal person, a permanent resident, a refugee or a refugee claimant
On the other hand, you must not:
- be living with your parents or with someone who has custody of you under a court order or a sponsorship agreement
- be living in accommodation covered by the Act respecting health services and social services (e.g., in a rehabilitation centre or with a foster family)
- have more than $1,500 in liquid assets (e.g., money in the bank or cash on hand) on the date of your application or while you are receiving assistance
- be considered to be an independent adult or a member of a family under the last-resort financial assistance guidelines (e.g., emancipated minor, dependent child, married)
- be an Aboriginal person who lives on a reserve
