Introduction

The Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals is designed to help workers who have experienced a collective dismissal.

This new program comes into effect on April 1, 2009 and replaces:

  • the Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals in the Resource Regions

and

  • the Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals in the Textile and Clothing Sectors, Excluding the Resource Regions.

This program is designed to grant temporary financial assistance to persons who have experienced a collective dismissal, to enable them to keep their assets and avoid having to turn to last-resort financial assistance.
