- Nursing
A special nursing benefit can be paid each month until your baby is one year old, if you breast-feed throughout this time.
- Pregnancy
A special benefit can be paid each month of your pregnancy until you give birth
- Purchase of infant formula
If you are a last-resort financial assistance recipient and are the parent of an infant under 9 months old, you can purchase regular (cow’s milk), soy-based or lactose-free infant formula.
- School expenses
A special benefit exists to help disadvantaged families cover their children’s back-to-school expenses.
- Canada Child Tax Benefit

This benefit is a monthly payment made to eligible families to help them with the cost of raising children under age 18. The National Child Benefit Supplement offsets the difference between the amount to which families may be entitled and the amount they actually receive.
- Child assistance

The Québec government has been paying child assistance since January 2005 in order to help out families. This measure has two components: the child assistance payment and the supplement for handicapped children .
- Québec Parental Insurance Plan

The Québec Parental Insurance Plan is an income replacement plan that pays benefits to eligible parents following the birth or adoption of a child and helps to better reconcile work and family responsibilities.

- Action
Action is a social assistance and support program designed for recipients of last-resort financial assistance who face obstacles to entering the labour market. It is aimed at helping participants achieve their full potential and at preparing them to take part in an employment-assistance measure.
- Assistance for persons with disabilities

Assistance is provided to disabled persons to offset or mitigate the effects of their disability on their career choice, their access to training and their chances of finding and keeping a job.
- Centre spécialisé des demandeurs d'asile
This is an social solidarity centre for individuals who have applied for asylum.
- Commitment for Employment

The Commitment for Employment proposes a series of measures to facilitate labour market entry for people who want to work, acknowledge and reward work, improve manpower training and business productivity and address regional labour needs.
- Employment Integration Program for Immigrants and Visible Minorities (PRIIME)

The Employment Integration Program for Immigrants and Visible Minorities (PRIIME) is provided by Emploi-Québec in cooperation with the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles and Investissement Québec. It provides assistance for obtaining a first job experience in Québec.
- Employment Pact Plus

The Employment Pact Plus is a two-year government strategy aimed at increasing cooperation among labour market partners in order to mitigate the effects of the recession. The pact provides for business investments to prevent layoffs and ensure workers are qualified.
- Income Support Program for Older Workers
The purpose of the Support Program for Older workers is to offer monthly financial assistance to older workers who have been let go or laid off and find themselves out of a job because of the current economic situation.
- Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals
A program designed to help workers who have experienced a collective dismissal.
This new program came into force on April 1, 2009 and replaced:
- the Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals in the Resource Regions
and
- the Income Support Program for Workers Affected by Collective Dismissals in the Textile and Clothing Sectors, Excluding the Resource Regions
- Jeunes en action
This measure offers young people between the ages of 18 and 24 facing obstacles to labour market entry an opportunity to develop their potential through adapted measures, including sustained coaching.

- Basic Benefit
The basic amount is equivalent to your needs (single adult or family) recognized by regulation. Other amounts are added to the basic benefit, depending on your needs.
- Special benefits
A special benefit is an amount paid to help cover certain expenses related to a special need (e.g. the purchase of eyeglasses) or a specific situation (e.g. damage caused by fire) stipulated in the Regulation respecting individual and family assistance . There are various special benefits.

This measure is designed for young mothers receiving last-resort financial assistance who want to go back to school. They receive support to help them assume their family responsibilities.
- Manpower training

This measure grants an allowance and reimburses training-related expenses to persons at risk of long-term unemployment.
- Pregnant Minor Financial Assistance Program
This program grants monthly financial assistance to minors who are pregnant and have no financial resources.
- Québec pluriel

This Emploi-Québec mentoring program aims to facilitate labour market entry of young people from cultural communities and visible minorities in the following six areas: Gatineau, Laval, Longueuil, Montréal, Québec and Sherbrooke.
- Return to Work Supplement

This measure offers one-time financial assistance to eligible individuals who go back to work after a long period of unemployment.
- Supplement to the Work Premium
The supplement to the work premium is a tax credit that has been implemented to help former recipients of last-resort financial assistance to remain in employment.
- Support for Self-Employment

This measure grants financial assistance to eligible individuals for the purpose of preparing a business plan, starting their own business or creating their own job.
- Employment insurance (Unemployment)

Anyone looking for a job can register for employment, provided he/she is able to work.
- Wage subsidy

Wage subsidies assist employers in hiring and integrating persons who wish to work.
- Youth Alternative
This program is aimed at young people under age 25 who are eligible for last-resort financial assistance and want to acquire personal, social and vocational self-sufficiency.
